On Sunday, June 15th, 2025, under a sky full of sunshine and surrounded by blooming trees, Springhill Cemetery welcomed friends, families, and community members to our annual Memorial Day Service.
It was heartening to see such a strong turnout, as people gathered to honor the memory of loved ones and reflect together in the spirit of remembrance. The peaceful setting of our grounds, combined with the warmth of the crowd, made for a truly meaningful afternoon.
We were grateful to have Rev. Dr. Tom Hubschmid, of Holy Trinity (Metcalfe) and St. Mary’s (Russell) Anglican Churches, as our guest speaker. His words offered comfort, hope, and a powerful reminder of the bonds that connect us all.
Our sincere thanks to Bobby B Productions for providing the audio services, as well as Helen Parsons on piano and Michele Cochrane for leading the congregation in song. Their musical contributions added a moving layer to the service.
We also extend a thank you to our Board of Directors, who generously gave their time to greet guests, organize donations, and assist with announcements throughout the event. Their presence and leadership helped everything run smoothly and added a personal touch to the day.
We’re proud to share that thanks to the generosity of our attendees, $5,826.50 was raised in donations during the service. These funds directly support the ongoing care and preservation of Springhill Cemetery.
We invite everyone to continue participating in this annual tradition, held every third Sunday in June - as we honor those who came before us and ensure their stories remain rooted in our shared community.
Thank you to everyone who made the 2025 Memorial Day Service so special.
